Haus Maids Franchising Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”) is the franchisor of the Haus Maids brand. This notice explains how we handle personal information about people who enquire about, apply for, or discuss taking on a Haus Maids franchise, and about visitors to this website (hausmaids-franchise.co.uk).

What this notice does not cover

This site is about franchise opportunities. If you are a cleaning customer, or you are looking for a cleaning service, this notice does not apply to you — please see the privacy information at hausmaids.co.uk and on your local office page.

If you go on to become a franchisee, some of the information below will continue to be handled under this notice, and the rest will be governed by your franchise agreement and any separate data protection terms in it.

The information we collect

Information you give us

When you complete the information pack request form on this site, we ask for:

your name, email address and mobile number;
your home address, if you would like a printed pack posted to you (optional);
the area you are interested in operating in (optional);
how you would be planning to fund the investment;
whether you hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a car;
your current employment situation;
whether an income of around £1,500 per month would work for you for an initial period; and
anything else you choose to tell us in the free text box.

If your enquiry progresses, we will also collect and hold information generated through the recruitment process, which may include:

notes of our calls, meetings and discovery events with you;
your attendance at, and any questions asked during, a discovery event;
information about your financial position, funding route and any funding application you make;
your business background, experience and reasons for pursuing a franchise;
correspondence between us; and
if you proceed towards an agreement, the identity and financial information needed to enter into and administer that agreement.

Information we collect automatically

When you use this website we collect technical information through cookies and similar technologies, including your IP address, device and browser information, the pages you view and how you arrived at the site. Section 8 explains this and how you control it.

Information we collect from other sources

We may receive your details from:

franchise directories, exhibitions, portals and lead-generation services you have submitted an enquiry to;
professional networking sites, where you have made your details available or contacted us through them;
our funding partners, banks and professional advisers, where they are working with you on your application; and
publicly available sources such as Companies House.

Where we obtain your details from a source other than you, we will tell you within one month of receiving them, or at the point we first contact you if that is sooner.

Where we rely on legitimate interests, we have considered whether our interests are outweighed by your rights. You can ask us for more detail on that assessment, and you have the right to object — see section 11.

Who we share it with

We share your information with:

Our service providers, who act on our instructions under contract — including our website host, email and office software provider, CRM and marketing tools, scheduling and video conferencing tools, and analytics providers.
Our funding partner and franchise banking contacts, where you ask us to make an introduction or where you have agreed to us doing so. Once your details reach them, they handle your information under their own privacy notices and as separate controllers.
Our bookkeeper, solicitors, accountants and other professional advisers, under duties of confidentiality.
Existing franchisees, but only your first name and general location, and only where you have asked to speak to a current franchisee as part of your research. We will always ask you first.
Authorities, regulators, insurers or courts, where the law requires it or where it is necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

How long we keep it

We keep records of pre-contract discussions, and of the version of the information pack and other materials provided to you, for the period shown above. This is so that both of us have an accurate record of what was discussed and provided, and so that we can respond to any question or claim arising from it.

After these periods we delete your information or anonymise it. We may keep anonymised, aggregated statistics that do not identify you for longer, to understand and improve our recruitment marketing.

Marketing

If you have asked for information or given your consent, we will send you material about the Haus Maids franchise opportunity — including discovery event invitations, network news and follow-up information — by email, phone or post.

You can stop this at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email, replying to ask us to stop, or emailing franchise@hausmaids.co.uk. Withdrawing consent does not affect anything we did before you withdrew it, and we may still contact you about an enquiry you have made or an arrangement between us.

Automated decision-making

We do not make decisions about your franchise application by automated means. The questions on our enquiry form help us prepare for a conversation with you; every decision about whether to progress an enquiry is made by a person.

Your rights

You have the right to:

ask for a copy of the information we hold about you;
ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete;
ask us to delete information, in some circumstances;
ask us to restrict how we use your information, in some circumstances;
object to us using your information where we rely on legitimate interests — including objecting to direct marketing at any time, which we will always act on;
ask us to transfer certain information to you or another organisation; and
withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on it.

To exercise any of these, email franchise@hausmaids.co.uk. We will respond within one month. If your request is complex or you have made several, we may extend this by up to two further months and will tell you if we do. If we need more information from you to identify you or to locate what you are asking for, we will ask, and the time limit runs from when you reply.
