A Time to Remember, and a Week of Sharing Ideas

As today is Remembrance Sunday, I’d like to begin by taking a moment to remember and pay tribute to all those who have lost their lives in service to our country, and to thank everyone who has served and continues to serve.

We will remember them.

This week, we held our monthly online coffee morning with our franchisees, an opportunity for everyone to come together, have a relaxed chat and share ideas and experiences.

One thing I’ve learnt over my years in business is just how important it is to have a good support network around you, particularly when you’re working for yourself. That’s one of the reasons we introduced our monthly coffee mornings, and you can read more about this week’s discussion below.

I’ve also recorded a short podcast episode explaining how we work with prospective franchisees to find the right territory for their new business. There’s quite a bit more involved than simply drawing a circle on a map! You can watch or listen further down this newsletter.

I hope you enjoy this week’s edition.

Haus Maids Coffe Morning

A Coffee, a Chat and a Few Gems of Wisdom!

Did you know that once a month, Haus Maids franchisees have the opportunity to get together for an informal online coffee morning?

It’s a chance to put the kettle on, take an hour out of the working day and catch up with fellow franchise owners from across the network.

Each month, we focus on a particular aspect of running a home cleaning business, giving everyone the opportunity to share their experiences, exchange ideas and learn from one another.

This month’s topic was Recruiting Staff & Initial Training, and we enjoyed a really positive discussion about the different approaches our franchisees take to finding, interviewing and training new cleaners.

One of the great things about these sessions is that everyone brings something different to the conversation. An idea that’s working well in one office might be just what another franchisee has been looking for.

And sometimes it’s those little gems of wisdom, picked up during a casual conversation, that make the biggest difference.

In Business for Yourself, But Never By Yourself

Running your own business can sometimes feel a little lonely, particularly when you’re faced with a challenge or an important decision.

That’s why we believe having a community of fellow business owners to talk to is so valuable.

Our coffee mornings aren’t formal meetings or presentations. They’re an opportunity to chat, ask questions, share what’s working and learn from people who understand exactly what running a Haus Maids business involves.

And the best part? Every coffee morning is recorded, so when a new franchisee joins Haus Maids, they’ll have access to previous discussions and all those useful tips, experiences and little gems of wisdom shared by other franchise owners.

How Do We Decide Where to Open a New Haus Maids Franchise?

One of the first questions we’re often asked by prospective franchisees is whether their local area is available.

But how do we actually decide which towns and villages should make up a Haus Maids franchise territory?

It’s not simply a case of drawing a circle on a map!

We carry out detailed demographic research, looking at population, household numbers, property types, income levels and other factors that help us understand the potential of an area.

But there’s something else we believe is equally important: the person who will be running the business.

We work closely with prospective franchisees to identify a territory that makes sense for them, ideally with their home location at its heart. After all, knowing your local towns, villages and communities can be a real advantage when building a business.

Watch Richard Explain How We Select Our Territories

Richard Knight, our Head of Franchising, has recorded a podcast explaining how we assess potential locations and why the biggest territory isn’t necessarily the best one.

Take a few minutes to discover what goes into choosing the right location for a Haus Maids franchise.
