Tom Davies, Haus Maids

Q: Tom, can you tell us a little about yourself and what led you to become a Haus Maids franchisee?

“Absolutely! Before joining Haus Maids, I had spent years in a completely different industry, recruitment actually. I knew I wanted a change, something that would give me more control over my time and allow me to build something of my own. When I came across Haus Maids, I saw the potential to not only run my own business but also be part of a supportive network that would help me succeed. That combination of independence and support was exactly what I was looking for.”

Q: What was it about Haus Maids that made you decide to invest in this franchise?

“It was the structure and support. A lot of people think franchising is just paying for a name, but with Haus Maids, it was so much more. The systems were in place to help me grow quickly, and the training gave me the confidence I needed to get started. Plus, the head office team was always there to provide advice, which made the transition from my previous career much easier. I wanted a business that could grow, and I could see how Haus Maids offered that opportunity.”

Q: What has your journey been like since you started the franchise in Bishop’s Stortford?

“It’s been amazing—challenging at times, of course, but overall incredibly rewarding. The biggest change has been the growth of my team. When I started, it was just me, and now I have a great group of cleaners working alongside me. We’ve built a reputation in the community, and I take pride in the fact that our clients know they can rely on us for a consistently high-quality service. Seeing my business grow, expanding our client base, and getting such positive feedback from customers—it’s exactly why I chose to do this.”

Q: How has Haus Maids supported you throughout your journey as a franchisee?

“The support has been fantastic. From day one, I felt like I was part of a community. The training was thorough, covering everything from managing the business side of things to making sure our cleaning standards were top-notch. Beyond that, the ongoing support has been really valuable. Whether it’s marketing help, advice on hiring, or just someone to bounce ideas off, the Haus Maids team has always been there. They really want to see us succeed, and you feel that in the level of support they provide.”

Q: What do you enjoy most about running your Haus Maids franchise?

“There are so many things, but I think the biggest one is the flexibility. I love that I can manage my own schedule, and I get to work in my local community. It’s also incredibly fulfilling to see how happy our clients are with our service. Knowing that we’re making a real difference in people’s lives—helping them keep their homes clean and giving them more free time—that’s what makes this all worth it. Plus, being able to grow the business and see tangible results from my efforts is extremely rewarding.”

Q: What would you say to someone who’s considering buying a Haus Maids franchise?

“ I would say, go for it. If you’re looking for a business that offers support but still allows you to be your own boss, it’s a great opportunity. You don’t need experience in cleaning—what you need is the desire to build something and the willingness to put in the work. Haus Maids gives you the framework and the tools, but ultimately, it’s your determination that will drive your success. For me, it’s been a fantastic journey, and I can’t recommend it enough to anyone thinking about taking that leap into business ownership.”

Q: Any final thoughts?

“ Just that joining Haus Maids was one of the best decisions I’ve made. It’s allowed me to have a better work-life balance, to grow as a business owner, and to be part of a community. I really believe in what we’re doing here, and it’s exciting to see others joining the Haus Maids family and experiencing that same success.”
